Importing data from other software providers

Data from previous surveys, which has been recorded using other software, can be imported into OTISS as long as the data contains some type of location information (this could be easting/northing or long/lat etc). A member of our team would need to check, process and load the data into OTISS on your behalf. The cost for doing this can vary depending on the size and complexity of the data so we would ask you to send us a sample of the data so that we can provide you with an accurate quote before we start any work. Email info@peartechnology.co.uk or call us on 02392 499 689 for assistance.

Importing Pear Data (PocketGIS)

If you are a Pear customer, who has used PocketGIS in the past to carry out surveys, you can directly import into OTISS for a resurvey if you have used the standard ‘General Survey V111’ or BS5837 survey template formats that are provided by Pear.

Before trying to import your survey data, firstly set up the ‘client’, ‘site’ and ‘map’ as normal.

Go to the ‘Tree Safety’ or ‘BS5837’ tab and click the ‘Customise Survey’ button.

Click the ‘Pear Import’ button, select the site from the drop-down list and click ‘Choose File’ to select the .CSV file which contains the previous survey data.

Click ‘Validate & Import’.

If the .CSV file and the data conform to the standard templates, the survey will be imported as a ‘Closed’ survey. To re-activate the survey, go to the ‘Surveys’ page and use the ‘ReSurvey’ button to start a new survey

If the data does not match the standard format or the template has been modified in any way, the survey will not be imported and an error message will show. If this happens, please forward the .CSV file to info@peartechnology.co.uk or call us on 02392 499 689 for assistance.
